15 years of music
15 years of music

15 years of music
15 years of music

On February 23, 2020,  we performed what was to be the first of seven farewell concerts with the last one, in Carmel Valley,  on May 9.  We had reached the end of our musical journey after 15 amazing years and wanted to step out on a high and happy note with these performances.  Well, you know what happened.
In the big picture, we consider ourselves very lucky.   We're all healthy, we live in a beautiful part of the world and people who surround us are good, honest, loving folks and simply want to get through this period intact while adjusting to the inevitable changes we all need to make.

In our small world however, we are heart-broken that we couldn't finish our remaining concerts.  We were looking forward so much to each show and giving it our all, one more time.  Your faces, your smiles, your kind words ... this was all ready to happen and then the door closed. Abruptly and without warning.   It was weird, surreal and depressing.

And in the meantime, the music continues.  Here's what we have done in the last two months:
Fred has been very busy being a multi-instrumentalist and instrument builder.  He's working on three tunes for a friend in Seattle adding bass, drums and lap steel.  Also, he's resurrected a long dormant project, building a arch-top guitar.

Eric and Craig just released their most recent collaboration, Photo Op.  It's an amazing album full of Craig Nuttycombe tunes and produced by Eric.  It is overflowing with Eric's musical virtuosity on every song.  Check out this youtube of the title track, Photo Op.  More information can be found on Craig's site - craignuttycombemusic.com

Brynn, to say the least, has pivoted quickly and has kept her performances and concert productions alive by leveraging online streaming.   She has performed numerous times solo and with her trio, Classinova (Brynn, Fred and Eric).   She also has embarked on a new journey by pursuing a career as a Certified Music Practitioner.   This means her music will be an intimate and integral part of those who are terminally ill.  She also plans to be involved with implementing regular musical programming in all of the local hospitals and care centers in and around the Central Coast of California.  More information about Brynn can be found on her Facebook page www.facebook.com/brynn.albanese or her website - www.brynnalbanese.com

Duane has taken advantage of the down time to work on new musical techniques and genres along with helping and watching his daughter's new business thrive (Caliwala Market, Santa Margarita).  He has found lots of joy joining in on local jam sessions (outdoors and socially distanced of course).  Most recently he performed at Las Brisas retirement community in San Luis Obispo and was even found serenading folks buying fish at the Morro Bay commercial docks.

Live Oak Music Festival on the Radio

Our very last performance was a live stream for the Live Oak Music Festival.  KCBX Public Radio, San Luis Obispo, aired a virtual Live Oak on June 19 through 21 in 2020.  The weekend was full of archived music from past Live Oak festivals along with live video streaming of bands including us!   Joe Craven was MC.  For more information, check out www.liveoakfest.org/on-the-radio-1
